Another big gap, another catch up, another round of excuses ? Nah...
For reasons which I will (probably) explain elsewhere, I have been cycling regularly for the last 2-3 weeks. This morning, a fine early summer Sunday morning, I was out on my bike before 8am, and wound my way up Moores Mill-Mount Rose Road, towards the golf club. Uncannily, my iPod seem to sense that not only was it Sunday, but also that the weather had turned for the better, and presented me with a fantastically appropriate selection - 'Weather With You' by Crowded House, 'Let's Get This Straight From The Start' by Dexy's Midnight Runners, 'In The Jailhouse Now' by The Soggy Bottom Boys and 'Love Plus One' by Haircut 100.
I'm really getting to be good friends with my iPod. I listen to English Football podcasts every Monday, I just found Danny Baker doing a Breakfast Show podcast which might turn into a daily show, and then finally last week I got my latest and greatest toy - an Ion iTTUSB Turntable, which plugs straight into my PC and turns my vinyl records into mp3 digital files for the iPod and our computers. It's going to take me weeks to translate all our albums and singles, weeks where I just have to patiently sit here, playing and record all those records I haven't heard for years - what an ordeal !
