Love Actually

Just wanted to tell you that we saw the best film on Saturday night. You have probably all seen it already - Love Actually. We loved it, loved seeing London, double decker buses, Waitrose carrier bags and Tiffany from EastEnders!! Seriously, it was the best film we have seen for ages. Certainly the ONLY adult film we have seen for ages, after taking Thomas to Finding Nemo, Rock School, Pirates of the Caribbean etc!!

The weather has turned cold, we had a frost this morning, we've put the heating on, God knows what our bills will be!! Spent yesterday clearing just some of the leaves from the back garden with a leaf blower. It's leaf pickup this week, the local borough collection department comes and scoops up all the piles outside everyones house. Great service eh?

Off to the beach this coming weekend!! Our good friends Lisa and Rob have recently bought a house on Long Beach Island and have invited us to go down there this weekend. May be cold but will certainly be fun!! Watch this space............

Shopping fun

Fall is here......well, it was here, summer returned briefly but now we're back to fall, if that makes sense!!

The leaves are not just falling of the trees now, there are cascading, raining down and the lawns are covered with every size and shade. Yesterday was so warm we got out the shorts and t-shirts, today started with a thick mist, and drizzle all day, guess that's it now, time to turn the heating on.

And because Halloween is over, I went shopping!! Well, everything is 75% off!! And it will all keep until next year!! I also found an abundance of scrapbook embellishments; tags, die cuts, stickers all for 25c each, less that 15 pence each. Of course I could sell them on ebay for much, much more....... or use them in my scrapbooking classes....... or just make lots of fun pages for my book!! I so love a bargain!!

And...Finding Nemo came out on DVD today (YIPPEE) added that to the basket but will keep it for a special occasion!!

I have a card making class at the Library tomorrow, and kids club on Saturday so best be back to work. Just wanted to say hello!!

Halloween 2003

Well, our party was a raving success!! The haunted house took some doing, but by 3.30 om Saturday afternoon, it had a smoke machine, spooky music, glow in the dark ghosts, bats and spiders, black and spooky finger lights, a "floating" witch and a bucket full of candy!!

Although the party started at 4pm, we waited until it got dark, around 5.15 before Chris let the kids into it. They entered through a curtain and had to go through two sections, then a tunnel, another two sections before they could get some candy and come out!! Some went through five or six times!!

The adults enjoyed themselves too, beer, wine and abundance of food flowed off the tables, although Chris & I managed not to get to eat any, and had to contend with the left-overs (of which there wasn't much!) once everyone had gone home and Tom had gone to bed!!

We strung lights across the patio, pumpkins, spiders and some gold and purple strings, and put standard lamps out to add to the ambience. Not bad for November 1st, a warm, sultry evening with a crescent moon in the sky!!

We seem to be getting a reputation as party-givers - now, when will the next one be?
